Rose Bowl & Pasadena

This past weekend (Jan 6-8) I had the opportunity to shop in Pasadena for the first time ever. As well, I had the opportunity to shop in San Diego, visiting a great show that took place in Del Mar. I found many tile tables and I was amazed at the selection of tables, murals, and loose tiles for sale. Here are some photos of the items that I found this past weekend:

As you can see, I found quite a few treasures!! A few ended up in my home and a few I  owned for only a few hours. The tables that left my possession are now in good homes  :-)

As well this weekend allowed me to shop at the Rose Bowl in Southern California for the first time.  I started early and saw many interesting items for sale--it is a huge place that caters to all kinds of antiques and collectibles. (You can find a map of the Rose Bowl in the upcoming events page)

This past weekend (Sat/Sun Jan 21/22) I had some time to do a little shopping, and to visit some friends in Bakersfield CA. I was lucky enough to find some real treasures, and I wanted to showcase them here. All of the items except the Gladding McBean tile will be for sale, so be sure to look them up in the "Items for sale" section.

LA Pottery Show in Pasadena

This past weekend ( Feb 4-5 ) was the LA pottery show--it was FABULOUS!!!  ;-) and it was SUPER DUPER!!  There were so many things to see and I really was amazed at the variety of pottery. In the midst of the busy shopping experience I had the chance to meet so many great people!  The absolute best part of the show for me was being able to find the exact tile set that I was looking for :  A D&M iron base table with a great carriage scene.    I walked in the door and found it 1 minute later--needless to say my shopping was done!! A big thanks to Bill Noonan!  :-)  After the show, I was invited to a home tour and had the chance to see a vintage home in the Spanish Revival theme.  It was great to actually see how the tiles were used throughout the entire house in their actual vintage applications.  Not only was the house excellent, but so were the other people that were there viewing the home.  The owners of the home were very gracious in inviting us all to see their newly restored hacienda--A BIG THANK YOU!!!
