The monthly Sacramento outdoor show was this past weekend ( Feb 12 ) on Sunday, and as usual, I was out shopping with my flashlight at about 5 am. There was a lot of competition, but there were a few treasures to be found as you can see here:
2 of these items have been shown before but now are in iron bases.

MY PACKAGE ARRIVED!!
Well, my package from SC arrived today and it was in one piece. To my surprise, when I opened the box, inside I found one of the nicest D&M tables I have seen to date!! Since I collect D&M I was very very happy to say the least! :-) I also traveled to the southland this weekend to deliver some tables. While I was there, I had to shop the stores in Pasadena--If you have not been there to shop you should take the time to go. Many thanks to Tim Gurley for selling me a tile set with a parrot. I have had my eye on it for a while and now it will be finding its home here with me. I also found a French tile that was made with nice craftsmanship. Here are some photos of the items I discovered this past weekend. |

ALAMEDA OR BUST!!!
Rain Rain go away!! The rain and wind this weekend put a damper on the Alameda outdoor show, but according to eye witnesses, the show went on with about 100 dealers showing up to sell their goods. Yours truly decided to not show up for the event because of the rain that was forecast. I was told later that it did not rain there!!
I also heard that the wind was so bad that the porto-potties were blown away!! Oh well, even though I did not go, there is always next month :-) I did meet up with a fellow tile and pottery enthusiast named Rick ( who also sells at Alameda ) and he was gracious enough to sell me a great Hispano Moresque tile table made of iron. The red paint will be coming off, and will soon be replaced by black paint. I have always wanted this tile set, and this table will be finding its place in my home this eve. Shopping a few stores in Soquel turned up some more nice encaustic tiles. My friend also found a great Taylor 6 tile table with tiles I have not seen yet. Other than that, it was a fun weekend watching the sea otters in Monterey Bay! Here is a photo of my parrot table after it was grouted this week. This is the Taylor set that I purchased in Pasadena from Tim Gurleys shop down on Fair Oaks Blvd. I had this table that was empty from a previous project, so I decided to set the parrot tiles into it. I also decided to regrout my Hispano table and here is a photo that I thought was a little funny! Here is what it looks like now that it is finished:
